Whose Live Anyway?

Click to expand info for this event.

Prepare to laugh until you cry when four of the world’s most masterful improv artists take you on the high wire act of comedic acrobatics. The rapid-fire wit and non-stop jokes will have your sides splitting and begging for mercy…and also begging for more. Welcome Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops, both seen on ABC’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” as well as Jeff B. Davis and Joel Murray. If you are a “Whose Line?” fan, get ready for the same relentless laughter that you grew to love, but without the commercial breaks! If you are new to improv comedy, then you are in for a show unlike anything you have ever seen before.

This particular style of improvisational comedy is rife with countless gags, one-liners, hilarious games and even songs so good you will hardly believe they were made up on the spot. The teamwork and trust that it takes to perform a show with no script is apparent, but when the best of the best do it, they do it effortlessly. Watch them build entire scenes, characters, and storylines right before your eyes as they take you on a white-knuckle ride through endless chuckles.

Ryan Stiles’ television credits include roles on “The Drew Carey Show” and “Two and a Half Men,” while Greg Proops has lent his vocal talents to animated characters in Star Wars: Episode 1, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Brother Bear. However, both got their start as comedians and are excited to return to their funny-bone-tickling roots.

Jeff B. Davis is also a highly experienced improv comedian and starred in the cult classic cartoon series, “Harmonquest.” He has also starred in “Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show” and “Improv-a-Ganza,” while gaining fame for his spot-on impressions of Christopher Walken, Keanu Reeves, and Jeff Goldblum. Joel Murray is the youngest of the nine Murray brothers, including Bill Murray, but has become a star in his own right. Though he has over 250 sitcom appearances, he is best known for his recurring roles like Freddy Rumsen on “Mad Men” and Eddie Jackson on “Shameless.” He has also appeared in One Crazy Summer, The Artist, Scrooged, and Bobcat Goldthwait’s God Bless America..

Flogging Molly

Flogging Molly with Special Guests The Rumjacks!

Flogging Molly - Founded in Los Angeles in 1997, Flogging Molly has always defied categorization. The infectious originality of their songs is a badge of honor and key to the band’s creativity, their urgency. They infuse punk rock with Celtic instruments—violin, mandolin and the accordion—and they merge blues progressions with grinding guitars and traditional Irish music. Theirs is music of exile, rebellion, struggle and history. With one sole criteria: that it matter.Social and political awareness has always been at the forefront of Flogging Molly’s music.. Their sixth studio album, LIFE IS GOOD is the band’s strongest release to date highlighting their finesse to tell meticulously crafted ‘stories’ with fierce and bravado arrangements. In 2002, The band released Drunken Lullabies and was certified Gold. Float, released in 2008, was a deeply stirring and personal album recorded in King’s native Ireland. Through all of this, Flogging Molly—first, last, and always is a live band— playing raucous and adrenaline-fueled shows in bars, pubs, and major rock festivals in North America, Europe, and Japan. “In Ireland,” King says, “you go to the pub to have a conversation. That’s what we do every night on stage, go to the pub and trade stories.” In 2010, to showcase their unparalleled and limitless energy on stage, the band released Flogging Molly: Live at the Greek Theatre, a three disc set chronicling their legendary sold out shows at one of LA’s most famous music venues.

The Rumjacks - In March 2021, The Rumjacks released their fifth studio album ‘Hestia’, rejuvenating the bands collaborative spirit, and marking an explosive new era of energy and creative release.Hestia introduced new singer and songwriter Mike Rivkees on lead vocals, heralding a refreshing evolution for the band that connected fans old and new. The album was an unmitigated success, both critically and artistically, and signified a fresh page in the story of The Rumjacks.Invigorated by the release of Hestia, The Rumjacks quickly went back into the studio to record ‘Brass for Gold’ EP, capitalising off their new sense of artistry.“After the amazing response we had from Hestia’s release, we knew we had to back it up, do it justice and show we aren’t messing around with any of this,” Bassist Johnny McKelvey said. The resulting EP a clear representation of a band finding a new voice and making sure that voice is heard as loud as possible. Grounded by the eclectic Celtic punk sound that The Rumjacks have become synonymous with, ‘Brass for Gold’ sees the band dig deeper into their ska and hard rock influences, all the while holding onto the defiant energy that ignites their sound. While ‘Hestia’ had the band conquering a global pandemic in order to record, ‘Brass for Gold’ saw the boys united in person for the first time. Producing a sound that is seamless and cohesive.“Brass for Gold is as much as an EP can possibly offer and still be called an EP. In true Rumjacker fashion, these songs represent a variety of different stories. The topics range from lovesick nostalgia, to misfortunate war heroes, and a few lighthearted drinking songs for good measure,” Rivkees said.“While some EP’s tend to be quite experimental, Brass for Gold represents a solid continuation of the newly reformed Rumjacks. Once again stating (almost literally in some of the lyrics) we are passionate and dedicated songwriters.”From the raucous comradery of first single ‘One For The Road’ to the crashing crescendo of ‘Blinding Flashes’ to the confident sentimentality of ‘Falling Back’, the cumulative energy of ‘Brass For Gold’ sees the band communicate one thing loud and clear.

At 26 years old, Grammy-nominated Yonder Mountain String Band continues to exist
at the forefront of the progressive bluegrass scene as one of the undeniable
innovators and pioneers of the modern jamgrass movement.
Bending bluegrass with elements of rock, alternative and improvisational music,
Yonder Mountain brought their high-energy, sound and psychedelic light show into
rock n’ roll settings with tremendous success, proving it possible for a bluegrass
band to not only exist but excel in a rock world without drums. The inroads they
made created opportunities for like-minded acoustic bands to perform at festivals,
rock clubs, theaters and stadiums previously considered off-limits for string bands.
Yonder Mountain's original music and anything goes attitude helped cultivate a spirit
of collaborative improvisation that continues to fuel today’s progressive bluegrass
and jamgrass scenes.
It is a testament to the legacy of Yonder Mountain String Band that their original
songs and unique interpretations of covers are regularly performed by next
generation marquee bluegrass bands.
Yonder Mountain String Band hits the ground running in 2024 with two studio album
releases, a full touring schedule and special musical guest, fiddle shredder, Coleman
Smith.
First up is a look into Yonder’s storied history with a previously unreleased studio
project: an EP featuring the original lineup of Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston, Ben
Kaufmann and the late Jeff Austin. The tracks were recorded December 13th and
14th, 2010 and January 28th, 2011 in Boulder, Colorado at Coupe Studios. The EP
titled I’d Like Off, will be released March 29th.
November 8th, Yonder Mountain will release the follow-up studio album to their
critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated album, Get Yourself Outside. This will
be Yonder Mountain’s 11th studio record and the 2nd collaboration written by
founding members Adam Aijala (Guitar, Vocals), Ben Kaufmann (Bass, Vocals),
Dave Johnston (Banjo, Vocals) and Nick Piccininni (Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Vocals).
Nick Piccininni joined the band in 2020 as a multi-instrumentalist, singer and
songwriter. Nick’s boundless musical talent and passion has imbued a renewed
energy and joy to the band.
Award-winning, cross-genre violinist and fiddle-shredder, Coleman Smith
(Rapidgrass, David Lawrence & The Spoonful, The Bluegrass Journeymen), is
taking an extended leave from his international touring schedule to join Yonder
Mountain String Band. From their first show together in June of 2023, the band felt
an instant musical and personal connection with Cole and they are excited for their

Marshall Charloff Purple Xperience

Click to expand info for this event.

Marshall Charloff & Purple xPeRIeNCE is the most celebrated tribute to Prince in the world. The group was co-founded by Marshall and Matt “Doctor” Fink (keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution) in 2011, an era where Prince closely monitored the use of his art. Their vision was to deliver Prince’s music on the highest level, played live and untracked by skilled musicians, while paying respectful visual homage through costuming and likeness. Immediately met with success and adoration from discerning Prince devotees, the band has now been touring for over a decade, nationwide and internationally, and has performed for over 500,000 fans. In 2019, they were officially licensed by the Prince Estate, and in 2021, Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE were selected by the US Department of State to be featured in the USA Pavilion of the World Expo in Dubai. Minneapolis-native Marshall was raised in the epicenter of 1980’s music production, and cut his musical teeth working with Superproducers John Fields and Steven “Funkytown” Greenberg. At age 19, Marshall, like Prince, was discovered and signed by producer Pepe Willie. Marshall is featured on 94 East albums with Prince, where he plays guitar and Prince is on vocals. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer in his own right, Marshall has written for, produced, and recorded for the multi-Platinum and Grammy award-winning Commodores and for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Little Anthony & The Imperials. Marshall’s second original album, “Unperfect” achieved the distinction of “Top 100 Albums of 2020” on global smooth jazz charts. Marshall has also played keys for the Atlanta Rhythm Section, and has played bass guitar with Bobby “Z”, Matt “Dr. Fink”, and Andre Cymone (all Prince alumni players). In addition to his work with The Purple xPeRIeNCE, Marshall has had the honor of fronting 25 of the finest symphonies in North America, performing the music of Prince to great acclaim. He has been the feature of two full-length PBS Broadcasts; fronting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and fronting The Purple xPeRIeNCE in the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Marshall completed a Las Vegas residency, where he headlined starring in “Purple Piano: The World’s Only One-Man Tribute to Prince”--a highly-engaging show in the style of Prince’s final tour, “Piano and a Microphone”. This production continues to tour nationwide, interspersed with full band performances. In all of his avenues of honoring Prince, Marshall’s vocals are uncannily accurate, his guitar and piano skills are masterful, and his endearing stage presence is irresistible in its paradox of finesse and reverence. Marshall Charloff's all-star band, Purple Xperience, hosts a number of world-class players, including Tracey Blake on lead guitar (played with New Power generation, Sons of Almighty featuring members of NPG, Tracey Blake Project, Westside: inducted in the Midwest hall of fame), Ron Long on bass guitar (played with Christina Aguilera, The Backstreet Boys, 98°, also recorded with John L., Larry Blackman of Cameo, and Spike Lee), Ron Caron on drums (played with the Rembrandts, Tina and the B sides, The Melismatics). Cory Eischen on keys (played with New Power Generation, Prince's protégé group: Mazarati, Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner and Dan Wilson from Semisonic)

TRACE ADKINS TEAMS WITH MLB LEGEND DON MATTINGLY TO BENEFIT MATTINGLY CHARITIES FOR ‘A NIGHT OF SONGS & STORIES’

COUNTRY ICON TO HEADLINE NOVEMBER 21 CONCERT IN EVANSVILLE, INDIANA, RAISING MONEY FOR LOCAL YOUTH THROUGH MATTINGLY CHARITIES

MORE COAST-TO-COAST SHOWS COMING UP

Nashville, Tenn. (August 26, 2024) – MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer and TV/film actor Trace Adkins will team up with the charity founded by Major League Baseball legend Don Mattingly this fall, headlining a special event to benefit underserved youth of Evansville, Indiana, area for A Night of Songs & Stories.

Set for November 21 at the Victory Theatre in Evansville, Indiana, and sponsored by Romain Cross Pointe, this evening will feature a special Q&A session with "the Hit Man" and the Country hitmaker, plus an intimate performance with Adkins bringing his iconic baritone vocal and #1 smashes like "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing," "You're Gonna Miss This," "Ladies Love Country Boys," and more – all in service to Mattingly’s beloved hometown.

The must-see show will raise money and awareness for Mattingly Charities – the non-profit set up by the bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays who spent his entire 14-year MLB playing career with the New York Yankees and later managed the Los Angeles Dodgers for five years and the Miami Marlins for seven years.

Tickets for the limited-capacity event will go on sale on August 30. Get your tickets at https://www.mattinglycharities.org , Ford Center Ticket Office, or Ticketmaster.com.

Co-chaired by Don and Lori Mattingly, Mattingly Charities is a non-profit, 501c3 organization established in 2007. With a mission to support advancement for education, social development, and athletic programs for underserved youth in and around Evansville, Indiana, Mattingly Charities has awarded over $905,813.16 in community grants and donations to organizations in the Evansville community since 2015.

The November fundraising concert is nothing new for the big-hearted, big-voiced Adkins, who strives to support and strengthen American communities however he can. In May of 2023 the Country star organized and played a free show in Mayfield, Kentucky, which raised money for the broader Western Kentucky area after a devastating tornado outbreak struck in December 2021. Adkins also filmed a video for the song “Somewhere in America” at the show, highlighting the resilience of the local residents with an anthem that has gone on to become a live favorite for Adkins and his fans ever since.

Hitting the road this summer, Adkins will continue headlining shows and playing fairs and festivals from coast-to-coast while bringing his 2021 album THE WAY I WANNA GO to the stage. Featuring 25 tracks in honor of the 25th anniversary since his 1996 DREAMIN' OUT LOUD debut, the set was hailed as “a creative tour de force" by Billboard and featured special guests Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Melissa Etheridge, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder on harmonica, and more. For Adkins’ complete touring details, visit here.

ABOUT TRACE ADKINS:
In his storied career in Country music, Trace Adkins has sold over 11 MILLION albums, charted 40 singles on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart, earned numerous awards, multiple GRAMMY nominations, and garnered over 2 BILLION streams. A Grand Ole Opry member for two decades, the Louisiana native is known for his dynamic baritone, fiery live performance, and notable roles as an actor in film and TV. Since his 1996 breakout debut DREAMIN’ OUT LOUD delivered smashes “Every Light In The House,” which hit Top 5 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and #1 “This Ain’t (No Thinkin’ Thing),” Adkins has pioneered a mix of classic Country minded traditionalism and adventurous, good-natured showmanship, breaking open new avenues in modern Country through fun-filled hits like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Hillbilly Bone” with Blake Shelton. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of his debut with 2021’s release THE WAY I WANNA GO (Verge Records), the 25-song album has been applauded by Billboard as “a creative tour de force that serves up the lyrical and stylistic diversity that would make his hero [Ronnie] Milsap proud,” with Rolling Stone calling it “lighthearted club-ready fun…,” and PEOPLE praising it as “packed to the hilt with hits.” From profound traditional balladry to clever-Country party anthems, the Mickey Jack Cones and Derek George produced project features special guests Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Melissa Etheridge, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder on harmonica and more.
